Day 1: Arrive Muscat
Upon arrival get transferred to the Hotel. In the evening opt for a Twilight Dhow Cruise with a brief stop a natural cove. Overnight in Muscat.
Day 2: Muscat
On a half day city tour we cover the Grand Mosque & Bait Al Zubair Museum is a brief introduction that traces Oman’s history and development. Drive along the waterfront Corniche visiting the colourful Muttrah Souq. We proceed for a photo stop to the magnificent Al Alam Palace, official palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos flanked by the 16th century Portugese forts Mirani & Jalali. Recommended Dolphin Watching boat tour. Overnight in Muscat.
Day 3: Muscat/ Quriyat / Sur/ Wahiba Sands
Depart by 4WD to Wahiba Sands via the rugged coastal route. We drive past the fishing village of Quriyat. Visit the picturesque Wadi Arabayeen with its deep pools of water set among the date palms. We then proceed to the Bimah sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater with blue green water at the bottom. We continue our drive on to the Wahiba Sands, a vast mass of undulating red and white sea of sand and dunes rising up to 200 meters, which are, also host to a variety of flora and fauna. Overnight in a Desert Camp.
Day 4: Wahiba Sands /Muscat
Wahiba Sands is home to the traditional Bedouin tribe who are known for their hospitality and their knowledge of the Sands. We will visit a Bedouin family in their traditional and simple habitat. In stark contrast to this is Wadi Bani Khalid. It comprises of small pretty villages embedded in the mountains. The Wadi has clear deep blue water. Overnight in Muscat.
Day 5: Muscat
Suggested excursion to Jebel Akhdar, famed for its fruit orchards typically laid out terrace style along the slopes of mountains, which are endowed with natural springs and aflaj. Overnight in Muscat.
Day 6: Depart Muscat
Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
